Synopsis:

Tegan Lockwood’s dreams were dead, sacrificed on the noble altar of duty before they ever had a chance to live. Her entire existence was disappearing into the abyss of apathy as she labored her days away keeping her family’s struggling business alive. There would be no emotion, no color, no beauty in her life. That is, until a mysterious visitor begins to draw her out of the darkness of her past towards something that will challenge the boundaries of her world, and unlock the most deeply held secrets of her heart.

Review:

I was contacted for an honest review and despite that fact that I tend to not often read romance novels I decided to give this one a shot. And I'm super happy that I did! I really really enjoyed the novel and didn't want to put it down when I started it.

The characters are well developed- I loved Tegan and her story. Both main characters have strong personalities and I enjoyed seeing them interact with one another. The romance between the two isn't instant which I loved- It was great to see the two come together slowly. I really enjoyed that the characters have highly developed back-stories (that I wont mention due to spoilers) that draw you to like them.

In between the character interactions, I really enjoyed the letters from Tegan's ancestors adding snip-its from the past. As well as, an additional small romance story within the main one itself.

I actually wish the novel was longer. I'd love to read a sequel that continues their relationship further.
I'd also love to know more about the relationship within the letters- it would be great to have a separate story just for that.

Overall, I definitely recommend this novel- especially to those who love romance/contemporary. This novel is well written and has great characters.

I definitely want to read more of Dallas Coryell's writing in the future.
